Kicking and Screaming

Bella is up this morning just a kicking and screaming!!!! She loves to kick in her bouncie seat and she just screams out her giggles. She is beautiful, wonderful, and full of life. She is really my inspiration!!!!

Bella wants to thank everyone for the cards, thoughts and prayers. She also wants to thank Jen Lewis, Nancy, and Millie for taking care of her in Boston. She really doesn't care if you don't say your R. She can look past that.

The eagle has landed back in Louisville, Ky. We still have no info.

We are just happy to be home. Back where people talk funny but I can understand them!!!!!

Bella is glad to be back home with her bouncie seat.

We're coming home

Tuesday but I thought it was Monday!

So, now everyday seems the same! We still know nothing about the path report. But....We are leaving the hospital and going to the Ronald Mickey D's House! It is a great place..It is a huge house and all the kids are oncology patients or bone marrow patients. Everything is so cozey! Sort of feels like home, sort of. Or more so than a hospital room.

We appreciate all of the emails going to badfishbella@gmail.com . Some of the people don't even know my baby but I can still feel that somehow they love my baby just what they have written. I appreciate everything alot more know. We love our moms now that they have gone back to Ky. We love the fact that they went on this journey to Boston with us. They laughed, cried, and cried some more, but only the strong one, but they helped us tremendously.

We wish that everyone will continue to pray for Bella! We want everyone to pray for Brother Rod's mother in Illinois. We would also like for everyone to add these two names to their prayer list: Taylor Young and Syndi Pelevich. Both are about one years in age and are going through a cancer. They are both beautiful! We wish them nothing but the best. Also pray for Willie, he is a four year old going through cancer. They are all strong and will beat this!!!!! Our God can move mountains, he is wonderful and miraculous.

Monday, who knows what the date is?

Bella is doing fine. She has slept all day. She has her days and nights mixed up! Good for us, huh!

We still have no news. So all we have done is sleep all day. We sit and stand and sit and stand. To get to the point, we don't know anything and we are bored out of our minds!!!!!

Bella is back to her old self. She is up smiling and laughing today. The swelling has gone down on her face and she is now opening both eyes. She is so beautiful. She makes it worth waking up in the morning.

We can't wait to get home. We are hopefully going to be released on monday or tuesday. I can't wait to see that bluegrass.

We love and miss everyone!!!!

We appreciate all of the prayer and support through out all of this but it is just starting for Bella so please just keep praying

Bella's big Blue eyes

Bella has opened both of her eyes today. She is starting to look like herself. She is loosing all of the water that she was retaining. Today is a good day.



We will hopefully be able to come home on Monday or Tuesday...Home Sweet Home...Back to the Bluegrass.......!!!!!!

Oct. 20th...Long nite for Jen and Bella

Last nite was very long for Jen and Bella. Bella has been retaining fluid in her body. She was up to about 19 or 20lbs. She is normally 15lbs. They had to drain out a liter or 2lbs of fluid last nite. She is a trooper. They may have to do surgery today to replace the shunt that flows to her belly. They will either move it to a valve on heart or onto one of her lungs. We should hopefully know the results of the MRI today and maybe what kind of tumor it is. We pray that Bella doesn't have to endure much more of this. We love her way to much.

Well, just wanted to let everyone whats going on. We miss everyone very much.

Oct. 19th...Bella is recovering

The surgery went fine. The only bad thing was they were only able to get such a small portion of the tumor. With the grace of God, the doctor did all he could do without hurting the optical nerve or the patuatarie(?) gland. The next step will probably be kemo(?). We will be able to do this in Louisville so at least we will have the comforts of home.

Jen and I are doing fine physically but mentally we are both drained. We both had the comfort of having our fathers here for a couple of days. She had her dad and stepmother. I had my father and brother. They all mean the world to us. You could just see our faces light up upon their arrival. We love them and have a greater appreciation for them.

We will hopefully be home the begining of next week. We love everyone and miss everyone. We appreciate everything more. We want to send a big hug and kisses to Trinity Free Will Baptist in Bowling Green, Ky for all of you email, love and support. Brother Rod has been fantastic.

Oct. 17..Bella's 5 month b day and surgery

Today is the day that Bella has surgery...We are scared to death but she knows no fear. We have learned a lot from our baby. We have learned that if you don't fear you cannot be scared. She is awesome!!!! She has been the best baby since being here in Boston. She hardly ever cries. She smiles and laughs. She just wants to be loved. She has little ways of telling who is holding her. If its mommy or daddy, she will play with mommy's hair and run her fingers through her daddy's goatte. We love her with all of our hearts and hope that everyone continues to pray for us. We have learned that people love us and support us more than we have ever known. The out pour of love in amazing. We appreciate everything. We have learned what is important and what is just part of life. So to end...Thanks everyone and God bless. So tonight, everyone go kiss your kids, spouse, or even pet(even Buffy).

Worst Day of My Life

We found out on 10-06-05 that our baby Bella has a mass in between her brain and her brain stem. That's not good. Also, that she had fluid built up on her head. So, they had to go in and put a shunt in. A shunt is a tube that runs from the brain to the stomach allowing the fluid to drain out. That's the easy part. The MRI showed us the brain and the mass that shouldn't be there. Our stomachs hurt from crying so much. So many questions go through your head at one time. With absolutely no answers. Why my baby? Why or Who am I angry at? Just Why? Well, we just sit and ask question after question in our heads. We cry, we laugh, and we sit with glazed eyes. But right now all that we can so is LOVE Bella and PRAY for Bella. We don't need to cry, we just need to love and pray to God that somehow he will take care of the situation. Whether it be in a good or bad way, He has a plan for Bella. Maybe, we don't understand but what really do we understand. So all I ask is for Pray and Love for Daddy's Little Girl, Rory Isabella "Bella" Shoemaker.
